BIPOC Adoptee Yoga Circle

This is a gentle zoom yoga class for BIPOC adoptees only (18 years old+) followed by 1 hour of meeting/greeting and discussion. The intention of this class is to continue to grow support for the adoption community and provide a safe space for adoptees to share their unique stories and experiences. The class will incorporate meditation, breath work and gentle yoga postures. Beginners are welcome!

*The name BIPOC Adoptee Yoga Circle was chosen with care and deep respect. The word circle is inspired by many Indigenous cultures — including Native American traditions — where circles are sacred spaces for healing, connection, and storytelling. In these spaces, there is no hierarchy: everyone is seen, valued, and heard.

While this is not an Indigenous ceremony or a replication of any specific cultural practice, I use the word circle with humility and gratitude. It reflects the values I bring to this offering: mutual respect, safety, belonging, and healing in community — especially for those impacted by displacement, loss, or identity erasure through adoption.

This space is grounded in my lived experience as a BIPOC adoptee, and informed by trauma-informed yoga, sensory integration, and social-emotional care. It is also held with awareness of the land we gather on, and the Indigenous peoples who have long known the power of coming together in circle.

Scheduled class dates: Every first Saturday/Sunday of the month
When: 9-11am PT/ 12-2 pm ET
